Intriguing, graphic and attention grabbing!

This book is a great read! It is attention grabbing, due to the brutal nature of the murder and the very fact that the author entices you want to know what happens next. The central character Sheriff John Withers is unconventional in his investigation methods but gets there in the end, despite being horrified that an FBI agent was also assigned to the case. There are lots of twists and turns to the storyline which keeps your intrigue in the novel through to the end.
By the end of the book the two officers certainly come to an understanding with each other and appear to make their peace, and Phil Clinker leaves you wanting more.

Page turning murder mystery

Debut thriller by author with some unexpected plot twists. This is first in series so it will be interesting to see how Sheriff Withers develops.

Suspenseful…will the hero survive attempts to capture or kill him?

I liked the protagonist and rooted for him to find out what had happened to him, what kind of experimentation was performed on him. I also felt sorry for him because he didn’t know why he was being pursued. I liked his ‘international’ group of friends – American, French, English – and an intriguing woman scientist. Many twists and turns in this well-written book. It’s a genre I don’t normally read but I’m glad I did.
